We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and creativity, adhering to traditional Japanese techniques.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Help train junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
Stay updated on current trends in the food industry to enhance menu offerings.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a cook or chef in a restaurant setting, preferably within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices.
Experience in meal preparation with an emphasis on sushi or Japanese cuisine is highly desirable.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
