Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Maker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Maker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our standards of excellence while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and care. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled according to food safety guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies. Follow recipes accurately while also being open to creating new sushi dishes based on seasonal ingredients or customer requests. Provide exceptional service to customers by presenting dishes attractively and answering any questions about menu items.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred, particularly in food preparation or cooking roles. Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential. Experience in the food industry, particularly with meal preparation techniques specific to sushi making. Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent quality in food presentation. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork in a fast-paced environment. A passion for Japanese cuisine and willingness to learn new skills related to sushi making. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
