Omi Japan at Granville Island has an opening for a Sushi Chef/Cook
We are seeking someone with minimum two years experience of sushi makingDuties and Responsibilities:
* Preparing, cutting and packing different sushi rolls
* Cooking sushi rice; basic food preparation
* Demonstrate a good understanding of shelf life by checking fridges, labels, dates and rotating product
* Ensure sanitary cooking conditions and appropriate safe food handling
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchenRequirements:
* Minimum 2 years experience of sushi making, preferably within a high volume facility (e.g. restaurant, production or catering kitchen, hotel, banquet hall)
* Experienced professional knife skills
* Experience handling and butchering whole fish is a big asset.
* Ability to work in a fast paced, multitasking environment with little supervision
