We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, particularly in sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are followed.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present sushi dishes using fresh ingredients while adhering to traditional techniques.
Ensure the highest quality of food preparation, presentation, and taste.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling practices.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation to enhance menu offerings.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary, sharing knowledge about sushi dishes, and accommodating special requests.
Experience
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with various cooking techniques, particularly those related to Japanese cuisine.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal preparation are essential.
