We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and exceptional presentation.

Duties

Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all food handling practices comply with health regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock. Adhere to food safety standards in all aspects of food preparation and storage. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary and accommodating special requests. Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation to enhance menu offerings.

Requirements

Proven experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment, specifically in sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques. Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on attention to detail in meal presentation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting. Passion for the food industry and commitment to continuous learning in culinary arts.
