We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices, with a specific focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes that delight our guests.
Responsibilities
Prepare and create a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, using fresh ingredients.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace and equipment.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for replenishment.
Adhere to proper food handling techniques to ensure the highest standards of quality.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary and accommodating special requests.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards.
Familiarity with various sushi styles and traditional Japanese cuisine is preferred.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is essential for success in this role.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal presentation.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
