We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Japanese cuisine and a strong understanding of sushi preparation techniques. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are followed. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Duties

Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity. Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation to enhance menu offerings.

Skills

Proficient in food preparation techniques specific to sushi making, including rice cooking, fish slicing, and rolling. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry. Experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment, preferably within a sushi or Japanese cuisine setting. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on presentation and flavor balance in dishes. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
