What We're Looking For
We're hiring a
Sushi Chef
who is reliable, precise, and passionate about Japanese cuisine. The ideal candidate has strong knife skills, deep knowledge of seafood handling, and experience preparing sushi at a professional level.
This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring consistency, creativity, and efficiency. You'll collaborate closely with our BOH team and help elevate our sushi program.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, and other menu items to restaurant standards
Fabricate and cut fish/seafood with precision and care
Ensure consistency in flavor, presentation, and portioning
Train and support junior cooks in sushi prep and service
Maintain food quality, freshness, and safety standards at all times
Oversee station setup, stock rotation, and inventory needs
Collaborate with FOH and BOH to ensure smooth service flow
Assist with general cleaning and closing duties as needed
Requirements
Minimum 2+ years of professional sushi-making or seafood preparation experience
Fluent English (spoken and written)
Strong knife skills and seafood handling expertise
Knowledge of sushi rice preparation, seasoning, and storage
Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures
Reliable, professional, and able to work well under pressure
Team player with a positive attitude and leadership ability
Food Handler Certification (or equivalent) required
