Job Overview

We are seeking skilled and passionate Sushi and hot kitchen Chefs to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a good background in food service, particularly in sushi preparation and/or hot kitchen preparation and presentation. As our Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are followed.

Duties

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, or hot Japanese dishes with precision and creativity. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared according to food safety guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours. Assist in menu planning and development, contributing innovative ideas for new sushi offerings. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling best practices. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi or hot kitchen Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food handling, food safety standards, and proper kitchen practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various sushi-making techniques. A passion for culinary arts with a focus on Japanese cuisine is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
