We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef and Kitchen Staff to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food service within the food industry, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes while ensuring food safety and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality, adhering to food handling and safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations to meet health and safety standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours.
Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation techniques to enhance menu offerings.
Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests when necessary, answering questions about menu items, and accommodating special requests.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or food service industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices, food handling techniques, and kitchen operations.
Excellent meal preparation skills with attention to detail in presentation.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Passion for Japanese cuisine and willingness to learn new techniques related to sushi preparation.
