We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a specific focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while providing exceptional service to our guests.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high quality and taste.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area in accordance with food safety standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines during food handling and preparation.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and addressing any dietary restrictions or preferences.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety practices.
Familiarity with various types of sushi, ingredients, and traditional Japanese culinary techniques.
Previous experience in a restaurant environment is preferred; kitchen experience is essential.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
