to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.

The

Surface and Mill Electrician

is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment in surface facilities, including the mill, processing plant, workshops, and other surface infrastructure. This role involves working with motors, pumps, conveyors, substations, lighting, PLCs, and other control systems essential to mineral processing and surface operations. The Electrician ensures all electrical work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards and site-specific procedures. They also support preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure continuous, safe plant operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Diagnose electrical issues and implement prompt solutions to minimize downtime. Respond to electrical emergencies and take immediate corrective actions. Follow safety protocols and electrical regulations to ensure a safe work environment. Inspect systems and equipment regularly to identify and prevent issues. Work with engineering and management on electrical projects, upgrades, and installs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Stay informed on best practices, new technologies, and safety updates. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

Journeyperson Electrical certification required. 3+ years of experience in mining or heavy industry. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment used in mining. Solid understanding of electrical safety regulations and best practices. Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues. Adaptable to fast-paced, changing environments. Familiar with mining-specific regulations and electrical codes. Experience with commissioning and start-up in mining or similar industries.
