Position Title: EKSCD (Supported Child Development) Support Worker
Hours: 2 positions open, 1 position is 12-14 hours per week and second position is 18 hours per week
Term: Temporary positions until return of the incumbent.
Starting Date: September 29, 2025
Rate of Pay: 25.95hour per BCGEU Collective Agreement, Grid Level 10, Step 1
The East Kootenay Supported Child Development program, under Community Connections Society of Southeast B.C., is looking for an energetic Support Worker in the community of Cranbrook, BC.
Qualifications:
The applicants will have their Early Childhood Education Certification, and a current License to Practice (or be in process). Experience working in the field of childcare/early childhood development is preferred and accordingly, preference will be given to applicants who have training, skills and/or experience working with children with a range of developmental delays, disabilities and/or diverse needs. Applicants with Education Assistant training and work experience will be considered.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Also looking for someone with an understanding of and passion for inclusive practices.
Able to work independently, managing various schedules and demonstrate the ability to be organized and reliable with time management and keeping track of their schedule.
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with young children and an awareness of developmentally appropriate practice.
Other Requirements
Successful criminal record screening.
Membership with BCGEU.
