Support Worker in Scarborough

We are interested in finding a support assistant to partner with a man in the carrying out of his egg delivery business. The hours are every other Saturday, between 10 am and 2:30 pm. Ideally, we hope to connect with someone who is outgoing and has a good sense of humour and who appreciates the young man's own sense of humour, love of music and farm country.

Responsibilities:

Accompanying the man to two farms for egg pick-up

Partnering with drop-off to customers

Having lunch out together

Overview of customer orders/payment

Communicating with customers regarding delivery schedule and any changes

Requirements:

Consistent availability every second Saturday

Current (less than 6 months old) Vulnerable Sector Check or have a willingness to update

Class G license and reliable vehicle with proof of insurance

Experience supporting and partnering with individuals with disabilities and related educational background (DSW, SSW or other) is an asset

*There is an additional 1.5 hours/week that can be done from home to organize customer orders. The drive for egg pick-up would be from Scarborough to central Durham Region, then back to a Scarborough neighbourhood for egg delivery. Kilometres driven are compensated

within the supported time

This is an independent contract with an hourly amount of: $25.00/hr + $0.50/km mileage.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.5 per week
