Job Description

Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client looking for a Purchasing Assistant. As the Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the purchasing department. Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills are required for this Purchasing Assistant position. The ideal Purchasing Assistant will have a desire to advance their career and previous purchasing or procurement experience. This Purchasing Assistant position could be perfect for you if you are looking to start your career within procurement.

- Perform research and then compare suppliers, goods, and services

- Prepare and organize purchase orders

- Request cost proposals, negotiating contracts and prices

- Oversee relationships with key suppliers to maintain compliance to terms of contracts, quality of goods, and timely delivery

- Manage records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments

- Complete detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)

- Track inventory levels and decide on purchase needs

- Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers
- Proficiency in CRM, ERP, and inventory management software programs

- High school diploma or GED required

- Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred

- Excellent organization and documentation skills

- Skilled in communication and negotiation

- Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position

- Must have strong research skills and excellent analytical thinking
