A Snapshot of Your Day

The Supplier Quality Management Specialist plans and directs activities concerned with material quality planning, qualification of suppliers and products, supplier performance monitoring, supplier improvement in close collaboration with Strategic and Operational procurement, Engineering and R&D teams within cross-functional teams. The main purpose for this role is to identify the supplier-and product related risks preventively, address them in effective and efficient manner to ensure consistent quality of materials and components for production of Instrument transformers. The SQM Specialist is a gate keeper in all aspects associated with material quality and needs to be ready to change the counterparties mindset in terms of supplier process and product qualification.

How You\'ll Make an Impact

• Lead supplier quality management processes including Supplier Qualification, Product & Process Qualification, Supplier Monitoring, and Supplier Improvement for the oil-immersed Instrument transformer production facility in Pickering, Ontario.
• Promote cooperation and alignment with key interfaces (Procurement, Engineering, Research & Development)
• Definition and execution of quality planning such as vendor and goods receipt inspections, assignment of inspection plans to material masters in SAP as well as maintenance of material masters and quality info records in SAP
• Supplier Qualification: Implement and control the support of the cross-functional supplier selection team with required quality data; conduct supplier audit and supplier capability or capacity audit and assessment of supplier risk. Develop and implement yearly supplier audit program.
• Product and Process Qualification: lead cross-functional teams to perform Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) according to applicable process descriptions and standards. Review supplier\'s submissions (Process Flow Diagrams, Quality Control Plans, PSW, test reports), negotiate and sign Quality Assurance Agreements with Suppliers, perform First Article Inspections.
• Supplier Monitoring: planning, implementation, optimization and controlling of the efficiency of the Supplier caused non-conformance management, reporting of Supplier performance KPIs. Ensure transparency and reliability of data.
• Supplier Improvement: initiate and implement supplier quality improvement programs, quality root cause analysis and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation measurements at the supplier. Track implementation and effectiveness of measures. Coaching supplier to follow Siemens Energy Quality Management Process and usage related tools.

What You Bring

• Bachelor or Master\'s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Material Science or a similar discipline. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in supplier quality management, supply chain, engineering, preferably in automotive, aerospace or power generation industries.
• You have experience of performing supplier qualifications, auditing, inspection, managing non-conformities, evaluation, and development of Suppliers and products of different commodities including aluminium casting, large steel fabrications, machined parts, insulating materials, conductive materials.
• You have profound knowledge in the application of quality methods such as APQP, PPAP, MQCP, FMEA, 8D, RCA, as well as experience with developing and implementing of Quality Assurance Specifications for supplied parts.
• Proven planning, organization and time management skills, leadership skills and intercultural expertise round up your profile.
• Yor are open minded, results & solution oriented and strong analytical thinking, with networking and relationship building skills. Advanced communication/presentation skills, basic commercial knowledge.
• Focused and target-driven with excellent computer proficient usage of MS Office applications as well as SAP Materials Management and Quality Management modules.
• You are fluent (writing and speaking) in English, willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
