Supply ECA and Kitchen Assistant
to join our caring and energetic team. This dual role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children while also supporting healthy meal preparation and safe kitchen operations.
Job Summary
The
Supply ECA and Kitchen Assistant
supports both the classroom and kitchen environments to ensure smooth daily operations. You will assist educators in providing quality care and learning experiences for children, while also helping to prepare nutritious meals and maintain a clean, safe kitchen. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in early childhood education and food service within a supportive and collaborative setting.
Responsibilities
Childcare Support (Supply ECA):
Assist educators in implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development.
Supervise and interact with children during play, meals, rest, and outdoor time to ensure safety and well-being.
Support children's daily routines such as toileting, handwashing, and dressing.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom, following all centre and health guidelines.
Collaborate with educators to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
Kitchen Assistance:
Assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks following established menus and dietary requirements.
Maintain food safety standards and handle food according to health regulations and allergy protocols.
Wash dishes, sanitize kitchen surfaces, and properly store food and supplies.
Support with inventory management, restocking, and organizing kitchen materials.
Ensure cleanliness and safety in all food preparation and storage areas.
Requirements
Standard First Aid and Level C CPR
(current and valid).
Up-to-date immunization record
, including a current
TB test
.
Vulnerable Sector Check
(clear and current).
Food Handler's Certificate
.
Experience working in a
childcare or early learning environment
is an asset.
Knowledge of
child development
,
health
, and
safety practices
.
Experience in
food preparation
or
kitchen assistance
preferred.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting, and moving supplies.
Strong
communication
