Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Planner will lead demand and supply planning initiatives, leveraging analytics to drive operational efficiency, cost optimization, and exceptional customer satisfaction at our Woodbridge - Vaughan, Greater Toronto Area, Canada facility. This role focuses on developing robust forecasting models, analyzing data to optimize supply chain processes, and aligning supply with demand, while supporting procurement execution as needed to ensure timely delivery and the best possible customer experience.
Job Summary:
As the Supply Chain Planner at ITN Food Corporation, your primary role will involve spearheading demand planning, forecasting, and supply planning through data-driven analysis. The ideal candidate will excel in building advanced planning models, conducting in-depth analytics, and optimizing supply chain performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, Warehousing, and Production, while executing procurement activities to support planning outcomes. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our customers receive the best product experience through accurate forecasting, insightful analysis, and efficient supply management.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain advanced supply chain planning models, including demand forecasting modules, to precisely align supply with demand.
Lead participation in S&OP meetings to forecast demand and ensure supply meets projected needs.
Develop and track key performance metrics focused on demand planning, forecasting accuracy, and supply chain efficiency.
Conduct comprehensive analytical inventory management reports, leveraging data insights to present findings to management.
Perform cost analysis to optimize supply planning and support informed decision-making.
Support production planning by creating templates and ensuring accurate recording of in-house manufacturing processes.
Input production reports into the ERP system to generate precise inventory levels and costing.
Work closely with purchasing and supply chain teams to maintain optimal stock levels based on forecasts.
Update costing of inventory through Bill of Materials to inform supply decisions.
Execute procurement of packaging materials, parts, and equipment as needed, ensuring accurate inventory control and cost tracking.
Manage vendor purchasing and correspondence for local and international vendors, including non-sellable inventory, packaging materials, artwork, machinery, and equipment, in alignment with planning models and to support supply continuity.
Oversee inventory control (Re-order Point) focused on packaging materials and critical supplies, informed by demand forecasts.
Ensure effective, safe, accurate, and timely stock management, including space allocation, stock transfer, handling non-conforming products, and accuracy of warehouse stock levels in the system.
Create and update SOPs for demand planning, forecasting, and supply processes.
Perform warehouse spot checking and inventory auditing to validate analytical models and support planning precision.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field with a focus on analytics.
5-7 years of experience in supply chain planning, with strong emphasis on demand planning, forecasting, data analysis, and supply optimization, preferably within the food industry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (experience with planning and forecasting modules preferred), and advanced analytics tools.
Strong analytical skills with expertise in demand forecasting, supply planning, cost optimization, and independent forecasting capabilities using advanced models and tools to predict demand, inventory, and supply trends.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in forecasting and analytical processes.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry best practices such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and BRC Protocols.
Familiarity with CARM (CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management) system and import duties, tariffs, and international trade regulations (particularly for South Asia-sourced goods) preferred, to ensure compliant importation and mitigate cross-border risks.
Experience in cost-cutting initiatives, such as analyzing vendor contracts, optimizing procurement strategies, and implementing process improvements to reduce expenses and enhance supply chain efficiency.
