Role Summary




The Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role in Rubicon's growth by leading all Procurement and Logistics operations across both facilities. Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, this position is responsible for ensuring materials and finished goods flow efficiently through the business, supporting production and commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities



Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Supply Chain team of four (Procurement Specialist, Procurement Coordinator, Logistics Specialist, and Supply Chain Coordinator). Build a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement through development plans, cross-training, and clear KPIs. Oversee all Procurement and Logistics activities for both facilities, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations. Lead cost reduction initiatives by analyzing supplier data, negotiating terms, trialing alternative materials, and identifying sourcing opportunities globally. Manage all purchasing activities for consumables, packaging, and operational materials, maintaining optimal safety stock, lead times, MOQs, and inventory levels. Use ERP data (Dynamics 365 Cannabis) to plan material requirements and run offline MRP processes until full MRP implementation is complete. Negotiate supplier contracts for long-term supply of critical materials, ensuring best total cost, terms, and reliability. Track, maintain, and manage supplier contracts, renewal timelines, and performance metrics to ensure compliance and strategic alignment. Reduce supplier base strategically to gain volume discounts and improve operational efficiency. Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, both domestic and international, including coordination with provincial Boards and management of transportation providers. Approve freight invoices, control logistics spend, and continuously improve freight efficiency and cost per shipment. Ensure compliance with all shipping documentation, prevent errors and missed appointments, and optimize air vs. ground shipment mix to reduce costs. Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze large datasets and identify opportunities for savings, performance improvement, and process automation. Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Finance, Marketing, Supply Innovation, and R&D teams to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives and new product initiatives. Support ERP and process optimization projects, driving automation and scalability across Procurement and Logistics workflows. Improve procurement resilience and cash flow by renegotiating supplier terms, diversifying supply risk, and enhancing operational flexibility. Ensure readiness and delivery performance during month-end and quarter-end pushes in this fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Qualifications & Experience



7+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, including Procurement and Logistics oversight. Proven leadership experience managing a team in a fast-paced manufacturing or CPG environment. Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical capabilities. Experience in the cannabis industry or other highly regulated sector is a strong asset. Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Cannabis), including item setup, approval workflows, and vendor management. Experience managing import/export processes, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling, Power Query). Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (SCMP or APICS certification preferred).
