Reporting to the National Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the supply chain through storage and movement of finished goods for the company. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that will maximize performance operating in the food industry while maintaining a safe and reliable supply chain. This includes organizing the allocation and storage of goods, planning to consolidate site volumes, inventory management and control, and managing the supply plan with other departments. Along with cost effective inventory management and processes, asset procurement, resource management and maintenance strategies, ensuring operations are in compliance with applicable federal health and safety regulations.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Develop, implement, maintain supply chain management strategies that increase the efficiency and speed of supply operations
  • Developing, and directing supply chain processes and establishing ongoing improvement plans for inventory management from a national approach
  • Developing and implementing procedures, and monitoring performance metrics for supply planning, warehousing, shipping, and receiving
  • Develop and employ an effective and efficient warehousing and inventory control and management process and procedures.
  • Negotiating and managing service level contracts/agreements for suppliers and/or service providers to ensure services are delivered as promised
  • Managing and supporting the warehouse team with daily shipping and receiving functions such as; stock levels, inter-sites product transfer, effective movement of products in the warehouse, loads staging and shipping, and related activities.
  • Collaborating with purchasing departments in request for proposal (RFP), and requesting for quote (RFQ) processes.
  • Creating, monitoring, and reporting on weekly and monthly supply planning key performance indicators.
  • Optimizing the warehouse functions
  • Organizing staff training, staff development, and performance reviews
  • Communicating, following, and enforcing the company\xe2\x80\x99s safety policies
  • Main Lead/contact for all planning problems with the supply chain, while maintaining a high quality of service. Liaise with required parties from inception of occurrence through investigation, reporting, corrective action, follow-up and final close out.
The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:
  • University degree in business, with a focus on warehouse, and/or supply chain management.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation through Supply Chain Canada or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of direct management experience in warehouse and/or logistic functions, in a fast-pace consumer products environment.
  • A trusted leader who can build relationships with staff and customers in order to grow and sustain a profitable business
  • Ability to Lead and support accident investigations.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding services of product or personnel
  • Manage monthly expenses within budget guidelines
  • Familiar with Food Industry Standards such as BRC, SQF
  • Direct working knowledge with ERP and WMS systems
  • Direct working knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain logistics management
  • Experience in managing third-party service and warehouses.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing initiatives such as; Six Sigma
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage projects
  • Be available for on-call after regular working hours
Along with the above qualifications, the successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with critical thinking skills. They must be a team player. Strong written and verbal skills are required to communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners.
