This role will be responsible for our premier music and performance hub in downtown Stouffville! This is a historic venue that will require someone who is passionate about events, programming, and music. It will require a strong client relationships background and knowledge as you will interact with a variety of different clients. Position Purpose:

Responsible for the coordination and operation of 19 on the Park, including developing, coordinating, supervising, scheduling and marketing the annual Concerts Series and Stouffville Celebrates theatre events,; overseeing and growing revenue generating opportunities,; events and rentals; preparing and monitoring the operating and capital budgets in collaboration with the Manager, Heritage, Events and Theatre Operations; provides input on the capital program based on Facility needs; development of sponsorship and fundraising initiatives; preparing reports as required; preparing the agenda and annual work plan for the Working Groups and attends staff working group meetings; monitoring facility maintenance and liaising with Facilities and Parks Division as necessary; hires, trains and supervises full time and part time staff and volunteers;

Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years related work experience within a live theatre or multi-purpose venue with a minimum of one (1) year at supervisory level, preferable in a Municipal setting.
  • Minimum BA in Arts, Arts Administration, Theatre Management or related field.
  • Completion of University degree in Arts Administration, Theatre Management or similar preferred. Formal academic training in Tourism/Events Promotion, Facility Management/Theatre Operations or equivalent considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in theatre management and programming.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, supervisory and leadership skills and the ability to respond to deadlines and/or multiple demands at once.
  • Thorough working knowledge of marketing and promotional concepts.
  • Familiar with the principles and practices of excellent customer service and the ability to provide effective and efficient customer service. Strong communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of principles of financial reporting and report and budget preparation.
  • Familiar with office and Box Office procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and specialized ticketing software.
  • Understanding of programs including Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Available to work varying hours, remain calm in stressful situations, and stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to set-up for events, including the moving of tables and chairs and the extension of the facility\xe2\x80\x99s retractable riser unit.
  • Strong creative skills in program/event development.
  • Strong experience planning, marketing and implementing a variety of events and activities.
  • Class \xe2\x80\x9cG\xe2\x80\x9d Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License in good standing and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
  • Current holder of First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, Ontario Smart Serve Certificate.
