The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, permanent Supervisor of Security Services. Reporting to the Manager of Security Services, the incumbent will supervise and coordinate the delivery of Security Services at CAMH. You will be responsible for the supervision of security services in promoting a safe and secure environment for CAMH staff, clients, visitors and volunteers. The key accountabilities will include providing leadership and scheduling of staff; managing human resources, including recruitment, performance management and ensuring compliance with the corporate policies and procedures as well security services standards. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and operate as an effective liaison between the security department, staff and senior management as well as liaising and working efficiently with external agencies, including Toronto Police Services, Toronto Fire and Ambulatory Services. You will be required to support budget planning and monitoring by operating within the budget; reviewing and processing payroll and executing purchasing functions. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and effective communication as well as complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. You will be required to work at all CAMH sites.
Qualifications
You will have completed a two year Community College Law Enforcement program with five years of security services experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Three (3) to Five (5) years direct Supervisory Experience in an unionized environment, preference given to those with the experience in the hospital/healthcare/mental health setting. Membership in International Association of Healthcare Safety & Security, ASIS, or other industry association, as well as completion of their certification programs are assets. A valid PSIS\xe2\x80\x99s Security Guard License is required. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will possess working knowledge of Closed Circuit Video Surveillance systems, Fire Panels, Access Control Systems and other forms of electronic security systems. Proven ability to make decisions quickly and deal tactfully with diverse clients is essential. You must be able to effectively communicate both verbal and written work instructions and expectations to staff and monitor quality of work. Familiarity with safety and quality programs, safety audits and risk assessments are essential. You will possess strong computer skills. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Please Note: This full-time, permanent position is NOT part of any Bargaining Unit.
