Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityThe Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations is responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient drug distribution system and participates in the supervision of Pharmacy Practice Assistants (PPA\'s) and students. In addition, the Supervisor is involved with a full range of quality improvement processes including monitoring product acquisition and drug shortage issues, while aiding in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. They resolve technical and medication distribution issues as required, while maintaining budgets for assigned work areas, including compensation and supplies.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12 plus completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician/Technology Program or equivalent experience
  • Licensure in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP) an asset
  • Minimum 3 years\' related experience in a hospital setting
  • 1-year supervisory experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and special precautions used with chemotherapy an asset
  • Experience in unit dose drug distribution systems, automation technology, decentralized medication dispensing cabinets an asset
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, inventory control, and record keeping
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to medications
  • Knowledge of the law and regulations pertaining to the receipt, storage, and distribution of prescription and narcotic drugs
  • Basic typing and computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, etc.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning, evaluative and leadership skills; fiscal management skills; and time management skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare issues and collective agreements
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Driver\'s License required for travel between sites
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
