Full Time Employment Opportunity COMPETITION #MSC150/22-23Reporting to the Floor Manager, Food and Beverage, the Flo or Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the Food and Beverage Outlet/Outlets to which they are assigned as directed by the Senior Manager/Floor Manager.Duties:

  • Interact and Communicate with staff and customers to ensure food service/quality meet or exceed department standards.
  • Review & adjust schedule on a daily basis to ensure staffing levels are maintained in proportion to business volumes including calling in staff to fill shifts as required. Notifying Senior Manager/Floor Manager of any discrepancies.
  • Reviewing daily log and equipment checklists to address any outstanding issues or concerns as directed by Senior Manager/ Floor Supervisor.
  • Communication with other Food and Beverage Managers to ensure consistency amongst manager and to ensure all issues and concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Monitors quality of buffet, a la carte orders and communicates any concerns to the kitchen management immediately.
  • Communicates any positive/negative customer comments relating to food to the kitchen management.
  • Communicates tour group and reservations to senior kitchen management at beginning of shift.
  • Ensures cleanliness of work areas, and that all damaged items or equipment problems are reported.
  • Update of trackers for voids, general food tracking, discounts, bar waste, inventory, etc.; print daily reports as required.
  • Perform Supervisor functions on MICROS in compliance with Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries' policies and procedures.
  • Ensures Bartender and Server cash handling procedures are followed and all daily duties are completed.
  • Report all injuries to appropriate departments in conjunction with WCB regulations and Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries' policies and procedures.
  • Perform physical inventory counts for all applicable items.
  • Ensure inventory requests are forwarded to the appropriate Manager on a timely basis to ensure par stock levels.
  • Conduct individual or group sessions with staff for training, coaching or informational purposes.
  • Assist employees on the floor as required, ensuring excellence in customer service.
  • Encourages a climate that supports diversity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Primary Qualifications: * Grade twelve (12) High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Six (6) months previous supervisory experience is required, including coaching and development, evaluating employee performance and performing in a leadership role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic skills in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Physical ability to lift up to sixty (60) pounds.

  • Red River College Hospitality diploma.
  • The incumbent is required to obtain "Serving it Safe" certification through the Manitoba Tourism and Education Council (MTEC); however certification may be acquired while on the job.
  • Six (6) months on-the-job learning is required to learn and understand Manitoba Lotteries policies and procedures, all aspects of the Food &Beverage department, areas of responsibility and expectations of this position.
  • Bilingual (French/English) language skills.
