Rate: 20-25 hours/week @ $18/hour ORGANIZATION PROFILE: Rapid Fire Theatre (RFT) is Edmonton\xe2\x80\x99s longest\xe2\x80\x90running improv comedy company; producing weekly shows in Edmonton, as well as corporate and festival touring abroad. JOB SUMMARY: The Front of House (FOH) Supervisor is a member of the Administrative team at
RFT and reports directly to the General Manager (GM). This position is essential for overall patron development, engagement, and experience. \xe2\x97\x8f The expectation for this position is to:
  • Create a warm and welcoming space for our patrons while providing them with efficient and effective service.
  • Show initiative and a standard of excellence for FOH.
  • Enthusiastically pursue business development for the FOH department.
  • Be available for administrative shifts on-site during the week as well as being present for in-person scheduled shows / festivals over the weekend.
RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY: Administrative Duties: \xe2\x97\x8f Schedule FOH staff for Box Office and Concession positions during regular and festival seasons. \xe2\x97\x8f Efficient and effective email maintenance. \xe2\x97\x8f Answer silent auction inquiries from external stakeholders and arrange items to be donated (Tickets, concession items, and merchandise). \xe2\x97\x8f Maintain and update FOH documentation as necessary. \xe2\x97\x8f Create documentation for ProServe and First-Aid training records. \xe2\x97\x8f Prepare weekly meetings with GM to update on FOH upcoming tasks. \xe2\x97\x8f Other duties as required. Box Office Supervision: \xe2\x97\x8f Incredible customer service and ability to troubleshoot. \xe2\x97\x8f Enthusiastically lead the Box Office staff towards success. \xe2\x97\x8f Responsible for the sales, and reporting, of regular and festival tickets. \xe2\x97\x8f Monitor and distribute comp ticket requests, via google form, in a timely manner.
Concession Supervision: \xe2\x97\x8f Arrange purchasing / delivery in order to maintain concession inventory. \xe2\x97\x8f Anticipate concession stock needs in accordance with ticket sales. \xe2\x97\x8f Oversee sales, bar maintenance, and daily cashout. Volunteer Coordination: \xe2\x97\x8f Recruit, train, and retain volunteers. \xe2\x97\x8f Maintain volunteer manual and scheduling software (Timecounts)
  • Schedule volunteers during shows and festivals as necessary.
\xe2\x97\x8f Communicate directly with volunteers regarding upcoming opportunities, redeeming volunteer perks, and feedback. \xe2\x97\x8f Be available for on-site training and supervision of volunteers on their first shift.
Reporting: \xe2\x97\x8f Prepare weekly updates of upcoming ticket sales to the GM and Marketing
Department. \xe2\x97\x8f Prepare weekly cash deposits and reconcile with FOH reports. \xe2\x97\x8f Prepare quarterly updates to GM that reflect the positive and negative impacts on
FOH within that period. QUALIFICATIONS: \xe2\x97\x8f An applicable diploma or degree in arts administration or other relevant schooling \xe2\x97\x8f Minimum of 3+ years experience in a Front of House role \xe2\x97\x8f Excellent time management skills \xe2\x97\x8f A \xe2\x80\x9cYes, and\xe2\x80\x9d leadership style that empowers team members \xe2\x97\x8f Very strong organizational skills, including balancing multiple responsibilities and effectively meeting deadlines \xe2\x97\x8f Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) \xe2\x97\x8f Proven ability to work independently as well as within a team environment \xe2\x97\x8f Very strong customer service orientation \xe2\x97\x8f Experience working with;
  • Ticketing softwares such as Theatre Manager, Red61, and Showpass
  • POS Systems such as Square, Stripe, etc
  • Microsoft Office products, Google Suite, Sage, Slack, Wordpress
\xe2\x97\x8f Assets:
  • ProServe certified
  • FirstAid and Safer Spaces training
  • Experience with quarterly reporting
  • Knowledge of Rapid Fire Theatre\xe2\x80\x99s programming
