Join our Rural Calgary leadership team! Reporting to the Manager, the Supervisor has direct responsibility for maintaining operations at the site level, aligning AHS, Nutrition, Food, Linen and Environmental Services (NFLES), and site priorities with the delivery of Food, Linen and Environmental Services (FLES). Responsibilities and accountabilities include: Operational leadership and human resource management for frontline FLES employees, to ensure service levels and priorities are achieved and the development and maintenance of a positive workplace environment Effective communication and engagement Ensures site compliance to guidelines, standards and regulatory directives as it relates to FLES Key contact to site administration and patient care for matters relating to FLES Participates and promotes FLES quality improvement activities and workplace health and safety. Ensures safe work practice and conditions Monitors, analyzes and manages supply, food and labor expenses to achieve financial targets Patient Food, Linen and Environmental Services Supervisors in Rural areas can be responsible for multi- sites, travelling to each in accordance with a pre set schedule for the work week. Given site meetings or urgent matters, the need to travel to more than one site in a day may be required. This casual supervisor position requires ongoing flexibility and provides primarily coverage M-F during regular business hours. You will be providing support primarily for Claresholm, High River sites, however you may be called upon to support Vulcan, Okotoks, Diamond Valley, Canmore, Strathmore and Didsbury sites.Description:The position is responsible and accountable for: Human Resource management (recruitment, retention, probationary and annual performance reviews, and performance management). Ensure that appropriate quality and safety measures are in place and are compatible with IPC and WHS industry and Provincial standards. Making unit-level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of all goals of FLES. Assisting in monitoring, planning and organization of Patient Food Services and Housekeeping demands, setting staffing levels, development of work routines and maintaining accurate records within FLES. The supervisor promotes leadership in the identification of FLES issues and assists in recommending and implementing solutions to those issues. Meets regularly with clinical customers to maintain sound relationships, reviews performance and manages escalated issues. Ensures the Manager as appropriate are informed of and aware of significant events and/or activities within facilities. The Supervisor is also responsible for: Ensuring Quality Audits are conducted at the specified frequency and that recommendations and follow up actions are taken. Implementation of the waste management program and practices. Overseeing the cleaning of facility furnishings and any required project work.

Required Qualifications:Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Nutrition, Business and/or Food Service Management. (High School Diploma, supplemented with leadership, management or supervisory courses will be considered). Minimum of 2 years\' experience in a supervisory or leadership position. Ability to work independently Proficient computer skills (email, create documents using Word, update spreadsheets using Excel, collaboration virtually using teams or a similar platform). Must be able to function with a high degree of autonomy, demonstrate critical thinking skills and have the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Physically capable to lift, push and pull 50lbs on a regular basis.
Additional Required Qualifications:Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Healthcare experience is preferred. Supervisory experience in a unionized working environment is preferred.
