Compensation
: $80,190 - $100,238 salary (Level 7, 2025 Rate)

Summary of RoleThe Supervisor, Finance is responsible for delivering accurate, efficient and timely financial support to Cataraqui Conservation Board members and staff. This role ensures financial systems are current, maintains adequate insurance coverage, recommends corporate policies, and provides human resources support including payroll, benefits administration and the maintenance of employee records. The position requires careful attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and oversee completion of all financial documentation through to general ledger ensuring transparency and integrity of data
Maintain computerized accounting system using appropriate internal controls including coordinating IT support and upgrading software
Generate regular internal financial statements and reports for senior management and directors of the Board
Oversee all cash management for the organization, borrowing/banking arrangements and management of financial resources including investment management and reserve funding
Develop and monitor annual budget including a multi-year forecast and communicate variances to staff and Board
Oversee preparation of year-end closing entries and coordination of annual audit(s) with external auditor(s)
Review corporate policies and processes, and work with external auditor to ensure appropriate financial controls are in place
Provide financial advice to the Board, staff and affiliated groups
Oversee payroll processing, administer benefits and maintain employee records
Manage organization's charitable status and ensure annual reporting is completed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
Supervise section staff and manage the section's budget
Recommend and maintain insurance coverage in areas such as liability, property and assets and oversee the claims process
Perform other duties as assigned and related to the position's responsibilities
Qualifications
Recognized accounting designation
5 to 7 years progressive experience
Advanced knowledge of applicable legislation, accounting standards and procedures for a municipal/non-profit setting
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills
Ability to perform under pressure and juggle multiple priorities
Proficiency with full suite of Microsoft Office software, and advanced proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Sage)
Accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to perform duties with tact, discretion and confidentiality
Adaptable within a fast-paced changing environment
Valid Class G Driver's License or equivalent required
