The Supervisor collaborates with other Supervisors in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and NSHA staff on the management of resources and to plan and maintain policies and procedures which will be in congruence with the overall corporate plan of the institution as it relates to Pathology & Laboratory Medicine's mission and values.Participates in short and long term planning for area(s) of responsibility, including planning for new, revised or expanded service. Coordinates the availability of resources for the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of approved new tests, procedures and equipment.Consults with and responds to customers (patients, physicians, hospitals, nursing units and other internal and external clients), regarding delivery of services.Required to make independent decisions about the most efficient use of financial, human and material resources while meeting operational needs and working within the appropriate policies and financial budgets.Required to make objective and respectful decisions consistent with policies, standards and objectives of the laboratory in an environment that involves consideration of patient safety, future needs of the organization and best use of human and material resources.The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting & mitigation of unsafe Acts or conditions.About You
