The Medicine Hat Police Service has an exciting leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership and administration for the Municipal Bylaw Team. Reporting to the Medicine Hat Police Service Operations Division Inspector, this position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of unionized Community Peace Officers (CPO\'s) , Exhibit Control Technicians, and the administration and coordination of contracted bylaw services. - Demonstrated sound judgement and self motivation.
- Successful completion of a two (2) year diploma in Law Enforcement, Criminology, Police Sciences or similar from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Ability to obtain a Community Peace Officer Level One Appointment from the Alberta Solicitor General and Public Security Department.
- Seven (7) years law enforcement experience, including three (3) years supervising law enforcement employees, preferably in a municipal environment.
- Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta drivers\' license with a satisfactory driving record.
- A management approved combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must pass a full Police Service security clearance as outlined in the Medicine Hat Police Service Policy and Procedures.
- This position is safety sensitive and will require a satisfactory pre-employment drug test to be completed.
