We are looking for a Superintendent Mobile Maintenance to be responsible for leading the Mobile Maintenance department to conduct the safe and cost effectively delivery of maintenance targets. This includes effectively executing planned and scheduled work as well as breakdown repairs to enhance equipment availability and reliability.


Mining Operations is responsible to safely and cost effectively deliver planned tonnages of ore to the concentrator in order for IOC to achieve its target for concentrate production. This requires the ore to be within targets for iron content, weight recovery and grind. The primary function of the Mobile Maintenance team is to safely provide reliable heavy mining equipment to the operations team to deliver these planned tons.


Reporting to the Manager - Mine Mobile Operations and working in an exciting and unique environment within the Iron Ore Company of Canada, you will be required to:

Actively participate in IOC's safety program and model appropriate safety behaviours. Ensure that IOC's safety program is cascaded to all employees and contractors in the department and that safety standards are met Ensure team members are led to work safely and follow all safety standards and safe work practices. Provide leadership in team building, planning, and establishing clear measures that keep everyone focused on safety, results, and the customer. Arrange appropriate training for team members, review work performance and deal with grievances at the primary stage. Ensue the execution of scheduled, unscheduled and breakdown work plans Work closely with the maintenance planning department to ensure scheduled work follows the Rio Tinto work management process and the maintenance team is delivered an executable weekly plan Manages by an annual budget ensuring that costs are accounted for accurately and that succeeding budgets support asset health Provide good customer service and maintain a continuous improvement focus by working with customers and team members to resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve maintenance productivity and quality. Analysis department performance against all key area metrics, identify gaps and implement solutions

What you'll bring



Strong safety focus and willingness to enforce safety procedures and regulations Mechanical Engineering Degree or a Trade Certification in a relevant discipline (dual ticketed in trades would be an asset) Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory and maintenance role Deep understanding of asset management and Solid mining equipment knowledge Experience working with Vendors (Komatsu, Federal) Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP, etc.) Valid Driver's License
