The Superintendent, Delivery Centre (C&D) plans coordinates and directs the operation of one or more delivery units in accordance with Corporate regulations, procedures and safety practices.

Job Responsibilities

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Superintendent, Delivery Centre (C&D).

  • Coordinates with Route Measurement to ensure the restructuring of delivery routes and the establishment of new delivery service that address operational efficiency, corporate initiatives, and service demands and commitments.
  • Ensures the integrity of all data in systems and the timely and accurate identification of mail volume and labour data to Production Control and Reporting (PC&R). Works with PC&R to establish optimum resource requirements and participates in the planning, development and achievement of the annual Operating plans.
  • Inspects/audits all areas and aspects of the delivery operations to ensure adherence to corporate and legislated regulations and procedures. Monitors, reviews and analyzes data/information and reports on the performance of the delivery area and works with enablers to assess the efficiency of the delivery centre operation. Determines where improvements to efficiency and/or customer experience can be realized and puts in place, as required, corrective measures and controls to ensure achievement of performance targets.
  • Monitors compliance with corporate addressing systems and policies. Takes corrective action to ensure office are current with AMS (Address Management System).
Job Responsibilities (continued)
  • Leads, directs, coaches, and provides guidance to a team comprised of one hundred and one or more supervisors, clerks and delivery staff engaged in the sorting, routing and delivery of mail. Oversees staffing, the development of objectives, and performance management, including attendance management. Consults with Labour Relations and/or union representatives on the application of the terms of the collective agreement. Creates learning and knowledge transfer opportunities for assigned staff.
  • Promotes and implements workplace safety and health programs and processes for their work unit. Addresses and resolves health and safety issues in a timely and efficient manner and may chair, or participates as a member of, the local health and safety committee.
  • Ensures employees are aware of mail security procedures and practices with respect to equipment, premises, vehicles, postal values, street furniture and other corporate assets. Identifies security concerns and problems and takes corrective action to resolve them.
  • Promotes and maintains good public relations. Projects professional service standards and ensures customer experience is a priority when investigating and resolving service issues and complaints.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education
  • High School diploma or provincial equivalent (GED) (Equivalent Experience may be accepted in lieu of a High School Diploma)
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years\' experience as a supervisor in collection and delivery/transportation
  • OR Minimum 4 years\' experience managing a team within a unionized environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Other Candidate Requirements
  • Possess a valid permanent driver\'s license (no graduated or temporary license)
  • Have a satisfactory safe driving record per CPC\'s Driver Safety Program , which includes:
a) Have not received more than 2 moving violations in last 3 year

b) Have not had more than three demerit points assigned in one single violation
c) Have not had license suspension or prohibition of any kind in last 3 years

Assets
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma

  • Experience working in a customer service role
