THE ROLE
The Superintendent, reporting to the General Superintendent, is responsible for all work on site and ensuring that the physical work is completed within budget, on schedule and in accordance with the contract documents. The Superintendent is committed to minimizing the cost of the project through the efficient use of field staff, equipment, and materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Accountable for all site safety requirements including contractor management
Responsible to ensure all work at site is conducted safely and efficiently as possible
Schedule and coordinate all subcontractors and own forces work; review and understand scope of work for all trades and the associated responsibilities
Collaborate with the Construction Manager to ensure that the forecasted costs and the project schedule are up to date and accurate
Mentor team members to ensure career growth and development.
Lead meetings
Work collaboratively with the project teams including clients, architects, and consultants.
Ensure that site documentation (such as weather, accidents, field force numbers, concrete pours, etc.) is accurately recorded on a daily basis.
Monitor work and materials to ensure QC standards are met.
Review and approval of all own force's timesheets.
WHAT YOU BRING
Journeyperson or equivalent qualifications
10-15 years of commercial construction experience with a proven track record of projects being delivered on time and on budget.
Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity, contractor management, construction planning and execution, project organization, and construction project controls.
