Overview:
The City of Woodstock is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team on a four-month, temporary basis as the Communications and Marketing Student.
The Marketing and Communications Student works closely with the Marketing and Communications Specialist, as well as the Manager of Marketing and Communications, to develop and deliver communications and marketing materials to share information, build trust and protect the City\xe2\x80\x99s reputation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the overhaul of the City\xe2\x80\x99s website and digital content. This person will support the team by working with staff across the city to learn about the services they deliver and use data and analytics to update the website content and create a positive user experience. They will apply their technical skills to ensure content is easy to find, easy to understand and focuses on the information the public needs to know.Duties and Responsibilities: * Work with the Marketing and Communications team to execute the website refresh workplan.
  • Collaborate with City departments to develop and create website copy.
  • Contribute to the development of corporate strategic marketing communications initiatives.
  • Develop digital media content for city social media accounts and platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned to assist the Marketing and Communications Team.
Qualifications:
  • Working towards a post-secondary degree in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Arts or a related field.
  • Have a strong understanding or experience in the municipal sector.
  • Have experience using a Content Management System.
  • Be familiar with website accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Have excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
