Outdoor Gardening position - Community Health and Housing Association (CHHA)

CHHA is a non-profit organization committed to providing safe, affordable, well-maintained housing with supports for low-income and vulnerable individuals and families. CHHA sees housing as a critical component of overall health. Consequently, we are looking for an Outdoor Gardening staff who is compassionate as well as responsible to join our team.

The Outdoor Gardening Staff will be required to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. This position is funded by Green Team. Applicants must be between ages 18-29.

Under the supervision of the property manager, the Outdoor Gardening staff will be responsible for:

Overseeing and undertaking routine gardening. Ensuring all CHHA landscaping sites are maintained. Plant, irrigate and maintain garden beds including preparing the beds, planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting the food. Provide education/gardening sessions while working collaboratively with program participants and volunteers to complete gardening tasks.. Support onsite training and workshops. Other duties as required.
Education & Experience

Experience preferred Class 5 Driver's License preferred

Excellent attention to detail Exceptional time management skills, ability to prioritize Good judgment and decision-making skills, ability to exercise discretion Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively Ability to lift a minimum of 10lbs Creative and innovative skills Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision is of primary importance
