PCC is looking for a summer student to join our Information Technology & Systems Team.
Reporting to the Manager, IT Technical Services, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work with the Information Technology and Systems team to provide professional, efficient, and effective support to the organization. You will gain knowledge of IT processes and procedures and have the opportunity to apply academic concepts in the workplace.
This position is based out of our Calgary head office and is a four-month term starting May 2023. Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
Accountabilities
In this role, you will be involved in assisting the IT Infrastructure team with Infrastructure administration, datacenter consolidation and Cloud migration activities:

  • Administration of virtualization landscape
  • Administration of storage and backup infrastructure
  • Administration of network infrastructure

Additionally, you will also be involved in assisting with other IT initiatives including:
  • Cybersecurity enhancement SOC/SIEM implementation for Duvernay and MRCP
  • Implementation of new Mobility Device Management platform (Microsoft Intune MDM)
  • Assisting with IT business process activities
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications
  • Currently working toward a degree in Computer Technology Engineering, Computer Science, or related programs/discipline is required
  • Completion of at least 2 years (or equivalent) of an IT or Computer Science program is required
  • General knowledge of IT infrastructure, Cloud technology and IT Cybersecurity
  • Familiarity with the following software:
    • VMware technology
    • NetApp storage
    • Cisco technology
    • Commvault/Veeam backup
    • Microsoft Azure and Office 365
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team with a positive attitude
  • Legally able to work in Canada
