While supporting Information Technology Innovations as a Software Developer Summer Student , you will build lasting relationships with industry leaders, and contribute to work that will build and strengthen your skill sets. Primary duties include:

  • Create, test, code, document and assist the research analysis and evaluation of City of Calgary AI/ML (Machine Learning), IoT (Internet of Things) and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) solutions.
  • Validate system specifications that will meet business needs for our corporate clients.
  • Research and evaluate new solutions within a sand-box environment.







Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science and equivalent. Third year of study is preferred.

  • Previous work or research experience with IoT sensor network, sensor device testing and development, M2M (Machine to Machine), data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, cloud and open source software is an asset.

  • Success in this position requires strong team work and excellent communication skills.
Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2023.

  • If invited to an interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).

  • An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.

Compensation: $26.63 per hour
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
