About Us
Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change\xe2\x80\x99s role is to protect the environment, human health and animal health through regulatory excellence, conservation, partnership and promotion. The department also coordinates provincial action on climate change and supports the advancement of the clean economy. To achieve this, we strive to develop legislation, regulations and policies, process notifications, applications, and approvals for regulated activities based on sound scientific knowledge and expertise.
Our goal is to educate, inspect and enforce to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations. We also proactively respond to environmental, conservation, animal, and human health risks and work to develop programs and deliver services to enhance protection in these areas.
About Our Opportunity
Working under direction of the Manager, Climate Plan and Strategic Action (CPSA), you will work closely with and support the CPSA team as they work to create the conditions to enable government and non-government partners/stakeholders to advance the actions within the climate change plan and support progress towards the goals within the Environmental Goals and Climate Change Reduction Act (EGCCRA) through knowledge mobilization, strategic evaluation and coordination, and direct program implementation. You will work within a diverse team of professionals and will support various projects. The primary focus will include supporting the development of tools and resources to support Nova Scotians in accessing funding to implement their climate-related priority projects.
