Job Description

City Vancouver Academy High School is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Leaders. Under the guidance of the Summer Camp Program Coordinator, the Summer Camp Leaders will play a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing our summer camp activities for children and youth.

Summer Camp Leader will be in charge of planning engaging activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, and fostering positive relationships with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.

Main duties:



Summer Camp is from

July 1st to July 15th

, 2025

Assisting in placement testing and other administrative tasks as directed by the Director of Studies.

Ensuring accurate and effective delivery of the camp's syllabus, adhering to the established curriculum guidelines.

Providing academic support and expertise to the teaching team to enhance the learning experience of camp participants.

Addressing academic inquiries from Group Leaders and students to facilitate their understanding and engagement.

Assisting in student and teacher inductions to familiarize them with camp procedures and expectations.

Participating in graduation ceremonies as required, celebrating the achievements of camp participants.

Undertaking essential administrative duties such as maintaining class registers and work records, administering and grading course assessments, and preparing end-of-course reports.

Monitoring and managing academic resources to ensure they are utilized effectively throughout the camp

Requirements:



Previous experience working with children and youth in childcare, recreational, or instructional settings, demonstrating an understanding of their needs and interests.

Strong knowledge of age-appropriate activities and out trips for children ages 12-18 years old

Minimum age requirement of 19 years.

Completion of a Secondary School program.

Legal authorization to work in Canada with children and in the vulnerable sector.

Possession of an emergency First Aid and CPR-C certificate is considered advantageous.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $38.00 per hour

Schedule:

8 hour shift Monday to Friday Weekends as needed

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Experience:
