The Windsor Jewish Federation & Community Centre is currently seeking Summer Camp Director for the summer of 2026.
Core Responsibilities:
The Camp Director will:
Develop detailed written program plans and schedules, including games, crafts, sports, field trips, and special events.
Ensure equipment and facilities are safely prepared and properly maintained.
Work with Program Directors on staffing and camper preparation prior to summer.
Oversee day-to-day camp operations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents during camp.
Supervise, coach, and mentor camp counselors.
Coordinate and lead pre-camp training sessions for counselors in collaboration with Program Directors.
Prepare and distribute weekly communications to parents.
Ensure all necessary craft supplies, food, and snacks are purchased and prepared in advance.
Assist with program evaluation.
Prepare oral and written reports, including injury and incident reports.
Maintain and track the camp budget.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience working with children.
2+ years of experience running/leading youth programs.
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and outgoing personality.
Ability to manage budgets and monitor expenses.
Knowledge of safety and sanitary regulations.
Ability to plan and implement curriculums and schedules.
Time Commitment
Before Summer 2026 (Remote Work Possible):
February 2026 - May 2026: 30-40 hours total
June 2026 (first three weeks): 10-12 hours per week
Late June (final week): 40 hours (on-site in Windsor)
During Camp (On-Site):
July 6-31, 2026: 42.5 hours/week
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:45 a.m.-4:15 p.m.
Remote work is permitted for all hours except:
The last week of June
The four weeks of July (camp session)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
