Job Summary:



We are looking for an Assistant Camp Director to join the Cave Springs Camp Directors Team. The Assistant Camp Director is a role model, inspiration and mentor for camp staff. In coordination with the Program Director and Directing Team, the Assistant Camp Director supervises the coordination and administration of spring and summer programs, including planning, organizing, staffing, and monitoring program activities. Duties include, but are not limited to, hiring, camp registration, supporting staff in daily operations, and ensuring site programs are carried out in a way that reflects the mission and values of Cave Springs Camp.

Terms:

Full-time June 1 - Aug 28, 2026, 40+ hours per week.

Job Responsibilities:



Act as a positive role model for staff, campers, volunteers, and others associated with the program.

Directly reports to and assists the Camp Director.

Coordinate logistics for summer camp program, including scheduling, managing job boards, break and vacation coverage, and group schedules.

Oversee and coordinate daily operations including programming and staffing of spring and summer programs.

Supervise planning and implementation of programming to ensure compliance with Cave Springs policies and procedures and Ontario Camps Association standards.

Support the ongoing learning and development of all staff.

Aid in the preparation and facilitation of staff training and appreciation events.

Provide resources for staff, including safe working equipment and practical support.

Ensure the property and equipment are in good condition.

Provide coaching, leadership, supervision, and resources in behaviour management and conflict resolution practices.

Ensure that professional communication is maintained with parents, guardians, employees and community members.

Commitment to providing a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for staff and campers.

Maintain confidentiality of all camp data and private information.

Delegate and assign tasks as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



Minimum 3 years working in a camp or childcare environment.

Minimum 1 year working in a leadership role.

Degree in Recreation and Leisure or similar education is preferred.

Strong leadership and communication abilities.

In depth knowledge of day and overnight camp programming and procedures.

Experience using CampBrain or a similar registration database is considered an asset.

First Aid and CPR C certification.

Lifeguard Certifications (Bronze Cross or NLS), and High Ropes Level I or II are considered assets.

Pay: $825.00 per week



Work Location:

In person, living onsite required during summer camp programming (Jun 23 to Aug 22), Sunday Afternoon to Friday Afternoon (5 nights).

Air-Conditioned Accommodations and meals are provided.
