The Thorold Community Activities Group Summer Camp is a structured high quality, affordable and interactive experience for kids throughout the Summer. Campers are provided engaging, educational and hands on experiences throughout the summer led and organized by Camp staff.
Our weekly themes guide our activities, games and trips to help create a fun and engaging atmosphere for all staff and campers. With weekly trips, daily swims, fun Friday's and more, be prepared to have an exciting and busy summer that will leave you with lasting memories and valuable experience working with youth! We are looking for energetic and positive counsellors who are dedicated to creating and maintaining a positive and engaging atmosphere. We are looking for individuals who are able to work as a team and on their own to remain organized and adapt to an ever changing environment. Come prepared to leave this summer with invaluable experience of working with and managing groups of children.

General Responsibilities
? Maintain a clean, safe and organized facility, all personnel are responsible for ensuring each area is clean, sanitized and free of clutter.
? Aid in creating and maintaining a positive work environment.
? Work effectively as a member of the TCAG staff team, while being supportive to the TCAG Mission.
? Promote the TCAG in a positive manner while promoting the camp program.
? Serve as an ambassador for the TCAG within operations and in the community at large.
? Adhere to the TCAG written policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities.
? Lead in a positive and professional manner.
? Use his/her best efforts to maintain the high standards of programming at the TCAG and will conduct themselves respectfully and professionally with participants, staff and parents.

? Responsible for delivering an exceptional camp experience for your entire group.
? Program planning and implementing a strong program to include arts and crafts, science, geography and history and physical fitness for weekly theme based activities.
? Assist in creating the weekly program plans along with a detailed list of supplies for the entire camp program.
? Work with and under the supervision of the Supervisor. Implement feedback given in order to improve throughout the summer.
? Provide a structured before and after care program.

? Actively lead and participate in all games and activities.



? Follow pool protocol and be in the water at all times according to the ratios as instructed by the Pool Supervisor.

? Deliver a consistent application of consequences in all areas of the camp program including before and after care, trip days and while attending the pool.

? Acknowledges Behavior Management Procedures have been reviewed, as has TCAG'S emergency protocols and that they are followed throughout the duration of summer camp.

? Supervision of campers at all times in all areas including bathrooms, change rooms, trip venues and the pool.

? Ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers and co-workers at all times.
? Attend all scheduled training and meeting sessions as scheduled.

Requirements & Expectations

? Experience working with children ages 4 to 11 years.
? Previous summer camp work experience is an asset.
? Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, problem solve and manage difficult behaviours.
? Attend the pool each day and participate in water activities in the pool.
? Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a program related to children (example; Child & Youth Studies, ECE, Bachelors of Education, etc.)
? High Five Certificate in Principles of Healthy Child Development
? First Aid/CPR
? Police Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
? Attend all training sessions and complete in houses training certifications.
? Training is on a part-time basis beginning in May and through the end of June. Full-time counsellor role during July and August - MUST be available for the entire summer.

Pay: $18.42 per hour
