Are you ready for an amazing summer adventure? We're looking for seven (7) energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Summer Camp Counsellor ! This is your chance to make a difference in children's lives, while enjoying our wonderful recreation facilities and the great summer weather.

Reporting to the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre Manager, this position ensures the operation of summer day camps that guarantee safety, fun, and a wealth of engaging activities.

What You'll Do:

The Summer Camp Counsellor will work with the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre team to implement daily camp programs for children from 4 - 12 years of age. Planned activities include swimming, ice skating, goat yoga, field trips, and more!

The Counsellor will be required to facilitate games and activities, provide daily feedback to the Sports Centre Manager, create a fun and inclusive environment, and ensure the well-being and safety of all participants.

Hours:

The work week is Monday to Friday, eight (8) hours per day. Candidates must be available to work the full summer camp season, from June 23rd - August 29th, 2025.

Successful applicants will demonstrate on their resume:

Possession of current Standard First AID/CPR C certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date)

Recreation Certificate for children is preferred

High 5 Certification considered an asset

Coaching or leadership training and experience considered an asset

Previous experience with youth programs and working with youth with complex behavioural needs considered an asset

Our interview questions are intended to assess the following behaviours:

A self starter with the ability to work independently, and also as part of a team

A passion for working with children and ability to keep them engaged

Ability to communicate effectively with camp participants, parents, and other staff

Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances, including strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
