The Position

  • The Summer Associate will be supporting the PR & Communications team with media relations, social influencer research, youth engagement and CEO communications.
  • Broadly the position includes; supporting or writing press releases and other communication products like pitches, social media posts and op-eds, researching content, media outlets and target audiences and assisting with media outreach, including creating media lists and pitching stories
What success looks like?
  • Media Relations - Update media list with prospective journalists and media outlets. Assist with writing pitches and press releases.
  • Social Influencers - Research and develop a list of potential social media partners and content ideas for campaigns (examples: International Day of the Girl, Gifts Of Hope) and evergreen opportunities. Support the team by monitoring and tracking social influencer and Celebrated Ambassador coverage.
  • Youth Engagement - Contribute to youth voice amplification opportunities and support work for the fall 2023 edition of the Girls Belong Here program.
  • CEO Comms - Explore content and engagement opportunities.
  • General/Admin - Update the PR team page on Plan Connect, create an inventory list of all our branded assets in the inventory, provide organization or fact-checking support for messaging related to key issues or standard responses.
