NSB Omega is searching for a Subsea Construction Lead for our Major Oil & Gas Client in St. Johns, NL.



Assignment Description





The Project is a multi year project consisting of a subsea inspection of flexible riser connections via divers and/or new subsea equipment fabrication and installation with a dive support vessel. The Subsea Construction Lead position supports the owner project team from Installation Contractor & vessel bid process, installation engineering through offshore execution to project closeout.

Summary of Responsibilities:



Member of the subsea project team, ensuring compliance with processes and contract administration / stewardship Accountable to ensure all offshore construction deliverables for the defined Subsea scope are completed safely, on time and in accordance with Company design basis requirements from the planning stages, through offshore execution and to project closeout. Responsible for providing marine expertise, project leadership and engineering solutions input for complex subsea projects. Participate in Request for Proposal process from preparation of RFP documentation while leading development of technical components of contract scope of work for installation contractor Lead the technical evaluations of proposals and act as the technical representative for subsequent installation contract; Manage the installation contractor and vessel activities throughout the planning, execution and closeout phases Develop the Suncor Energy Offshore Client Representative Orientation package for communication prior to the project vessel(s) mobilization / offshore execution. Manage the Suncor installation engineers/offshore client representatives and Dive Safety Specialists Review and management of offshore construction schedules Actively involved in the capture, management, incorporation and closure of opportunities, lessons learned and risks from planning through to execution and project closeout. Manage and respond to interfaces and coordinate work with other business unit functions (e.g. Marine and Aviation Operations, Asset Integrity, EH&S, Quality, Document Control, Risk, Regulatory, etc) and external third parties, including installation contractors, equipment suppliers, regulator and certifying authority to support the planning, delivery and execution of the project in accordance with Suncor's Operational Excellence Management System framework. Ensure the incorporation of industry best practices, particularly with respect to subsea construction/diving procedure development, with the aim of reducing cost/risk and improving performance while working within approved budgets and schedules Liaise with Marine Warranty Surveyor, LR, CNLOPB and OEM representatives as required. Travel to third party sites in support of project delivery, including international destinations, as required. Ability and willingness to participate in pre-work including equipment readiness checks, mock testing activities, vessel mobilization(s), and demobilization(s).

Valid certifications for Newfoundland offshore

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes



Bachelor's degree in Engineering with minimum 15 years related oil & gas experience with specific experience in subsea construction projects with Dive Support Vessels. Sound knowledge and experiences of subsea engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning activities, particularly pertaining to saturation diving, subsea manifolds and flexible pipes. Demonstrated experience as an offshore engineer or client representative during major subsea construction project(s). Demonstrated experience with adhering to industry standard project delivery models and associated project management systems such as EH&S, cost control, planning, quality, document control and management of change. Business management skills pertaining to project management, budgeting and stewardship. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage and motivate external third parties, including consultants and sub-contractors, and support the interface with joint venture partners and regulatory bodies. Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills.
