Do you want to be a part of driving the transition?Our Project team are currently seeking an Offshore Construction Lead to join their team. This position will be based in our St. John's office with periodic business trips to Ingleside, TX and transition Offshore Newfoundland for the completion of project scope. As the Offshore Construction Lead, you will support the client in the preparation, execution and, closeout of maintenance and modifications activities on an offshore installation.What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for overall performance management of the offshore construction team including key subcontractors.
  • Review work pack requirements including materials, labour and operational requirements to ensure delivery of scheduled work scopes.
  • Responsible for the administration of job progress, personnel and equipment timesheets.
  • Assist with material and equipment movements.
  • Responsible for the preparation and management of permit to work requirements and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with development of site queries for any deviations against original scope.
  • Responsible for mechanical completion, commissioning and handover activities associated with scopes of work.
  • Responsible for employee performance management.
  • Coordinate with onshore and offshore personnel in the completion of site surveys and technical queries Responsible for conflict management and resolution.
  • Liaison with other platform stakeholders to maintain healthy relationships for efficient support of facility requirements.
  • Assist Execution Lead with POB management inline with approved construction schedule.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled construction meetings both onshore and offshore and provide input and feedback into project plans and schedules.
  • Responsible for overseeing completion of work pack documentation including as building, mechanical completion, PSSR, lessons learned, etc.
  • Ensure all procedures, processes and specifications are being adhered to during offshore execution scopes.
  • Champion ongoing continuous improvement initiatives and offer cost effective solutions to both Aker Solutions and client.
  • Travel offshore as required to support execution / installation of hook up and commissioning work.
  • Support and maintain good working relationship with other groups that require other discipline construction support (operations, drilling and maintenance).
We think you should have:
  • Technical diploma or degree in an engineering discipline, trade diploma, or an equivalent combination of education relevant experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must complete mandatory safety training and meet qualifications required for work offshore.
  • Understanding of client installation, specifications, logistic constraints, and local regulations.
  • Experience implementing, administering and managing multi-discipline construction/commissioning work activities offshore.
  • Must have strong computer skills and become familiar with various computer applications required for management of materials, work progress, timesheets, etc.
