About this opportunity:

Cenovus Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Lead to join our Downstream Site Projects team. In this role, you will be integral to the execution of numerous brownfield projects at our Lloydminster Downstream facilities. Working closely with our Project Managers, project supports and contractors, you will be the field lead on the projects to offer professional services and insight. This is an ideal opportunity for a dedicated and self-driven Construction Lead to join our innovative fast-paced team. As a supervisor, you are a self-starter that will play an instrumental role in shaping the culture of the construction team, while leading the ongoing execution and progression of site projects.

What you'll do:

Oversee project execution from pre-mobilization, execution, post execution up to transfer of custody to client and project closeouts Development of individual project and portfolio level construction execution plan with collaboration with project team and contractors Monitoring the quality, quantity and progress of all construction activities Prepare and chair regular progress meetings with Project Team, clients, contractors and their sub-contractors Responsible for identifying the required construction support resources and assigning direct reports responsibilities Understand the hazards and safe work procedures applicable to each construction tasks Direct supervision of Field Level Supervisors

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:


Legally authorized to work in Canada Minimum Grade 12 Diploma with a certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or relevant Trade Certification Minimum 8+ years of construction supervision experience preferably in an oil and gas environment Ability to lead others in the completion of scheduled activities
We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.


As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments


For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
