This role is within our Market Analytics team, and works closely with Trading, Supply and Logistics, Business Development, Fundamentals teams and Senior Management. This team is focused on supporting commercial decisions and executive-level audience with leadership quality deliverables via dashboarding and data driven analytical insights across crude oil, refined products, natural gas and NGLs.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data pipelines, data models, and data visualizations fit for purpose for Trading and Senior Management used for forward inferences and strategy formulation

Develop and maintain market analytics tools and libraries used to forecast forward supply and demand balances for Canadian, US crude, refined products, NGLs and natural gas

Work as part of geographically dispersed team, effectively communicating prioritized business needs and prioritized project statuses.

Provide back-up vacation coverage to market analysts on the team as assigned.

Qualifications

Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

Available to begin work in May 2024

Education

Must be enrolled in a Management, Economics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or Data Science Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

Candidates currently enrolled in a Master\xe2\x80\x99s program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered

Skills / Competencies

Ability to work cohesively in a team while capable of completing tasks independently as required

Ability to collaborate with business partners and build solutions.

Excellent analytical/modeling and communication skills

Interested in learning about commodity trading and developing business insight

Knowledge in code development, Git, R, Spotfire, or SQL would be considered as asset
