Our Foster Creek site is seeking a highly motivated Site Operations Engineer student to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive support to our site operations while identifying and scoping Process Design Optimization (PDO) and offsite optimization opportunities. This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact on our operations and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily plant optimization and troubleshooting
  • Increase produced water recycle
  • Improve the availability of Boiler Feed Water (BFW) and reduce Process Water (PW) disposal
  • Maximizing oil & steam production will help with meeting production targets
  • Identify optimization opportunities to assist in reducing operating post.
Qualifications
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of the work term and able to produce documentation (e.g. work visa)
  • Available to begin work in September 2023 for 4 months
Education
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process engineering or a relevant program at an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Attached copies of transcripts
Skills / Competencies
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a safety-first approach
  • Experience with analyzing and entering process data would be an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Parc View, E-Server, UNISIM, KORF would be an asset.
