Research Assistant

who will be responsible for assisting in a research project as outlined below.



Project Title - Complex Needs and Community Services: Exploring Experiences of Formerly Incarcerated Older Adults and Community Service Providers in Saskatchewan
In the current project, we will explore the complex needs (health, social, etc.) of formerly incarcerated older adults, connecting them to the benefits and challenges of community services. Our goal is to develop a comprehensive understanding of how complex needs are experienced in community spaces, and how these factors affect the lives of older adults upon release from incarceration, and community service providers in their work to facilitate services for this unique, vulnerable population.
Our objectives are (1) to identify the challenges formerly incarcerated older adults face; (2) assess the implementation of community services (i) by community service providers, and (ii) for formerly incarcerated older adults who are navigating services; and (3) suggest changes that must be made to community services.
Typical Duties include:Conduct a comprehensive literature review Assist principal investigator with ethics application Communicate with principal investigator on a regular basis Transcription, data coding, and analysis Perform other related duties as required

Preferred Skills & Abilities:Advanced writing skills Previous experience with Nvivo Time management

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate should be enrolled in a certificate or degree in social science or humanities. The preferred candidate is required to be enrolled at the University of Regina.
Physical Demands Pay Grade As Per CUPE 2419 Salary Range As per CUPE 2419 Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
Up to a maximum of 4 hours per week between October 2025 and July 2026.
