Campus Location: OshawaNote: A valid G Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license in good standing and access to a vehicle is required to fulfill the duties of this role, as there is travel in the province of Ontario.Note: This role is related specifically to college student recruitment and does not include human resources recruitment and staffing.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment, the Student Recruitment Officer implements the institution\xe2\x80\x99s recruitment and enrolment plan as defined by Durham College\xe2\x80\x99s SEM framework for the domestic student population.The role of the Student Recruitment Officer is to develop and conduct a comprehensive recruiting program to meet college application and enrolment targets. This would include scheduling visits with assigned priority schools, developing new relationships with secondary schools, liaising with stakeholders and community agencies; maintaining and presenting up-to-date knowledge of the full-time programs and services of the college.The incumbent collaborates with the student recruitment team to develop and customize content for presentations, brochures and webinars and leverage the CRM tool to effectively collect leads while promoting the college and its full-time programs and services.1.Marketing and Client Support:

  • Conduct a direct and non-direct student recruitment program to successfully promote and generate applications to the full range of full-time college programs.
  • Provides expert product knowledge and maintains ongoing contact with secondary schools and community agencies province-wide.
  • Develops new and maintains ongoing relationships with teachers and guidance counsellors at assigned priority secondary schools and community partners.
  • Organize and participate in system-wide student recruiting activities such as College Information Program (CIP), secondary school visits, and visits to community partners, including making all travel arrangements during this time for rental vehicles, insurance, and accommodations.
  • Maintains knowledge of full-time programs by liaising with Deans, Associate Deans, Program Coordinators, Administrative Coordinators and faculty and attend program and advisory meetings as required.
  • Meets with prospective students for one-on-one appointments to provide information and guidance on program choice, services and how to apply to a full-time college program.
  • Develop and conduct community presentations, for student recruitment purposes, as requested by secondary schools, community partners and special interest groups.
  • Provide program, admission and general college information to a diverse range of prospective students including those from secondary schools and mature learners.
  • Coordinate and assist with conducting events such as Open Houses, Program Information Nights, campus tours, webinar information sessions and on-campus secondary school visits for prospective students, applicants, parents and guidance counselors.
  • Work with colleagues to develop recruitment and promotional materials such as emails, brochures, posters, social media posts and other items as required.
  • Represent the college or region/province on various committees to collaborate and establish working relationships.
2. Administration
  • Responsible for proactively collecting lead information from prospective students and inputting and analyzing lead data into CRM system (Salesforce) to communicate in a timely and regular fashion. This includes general follow up, reminders, event invitations, etc.
  • Track all activity from customer service channels including events, live chat, email, one-on-one appointments and telephone calls.
  • Leverage social media to connect with potential applicants and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS: * Three-year diploma/degree in marketing, public relations, human resources, advertising, business, sales or employment counselling.
  • A valid G Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license in good standing is required.
  • Minimum of three years experience demonstrating excellent customer service, oral and public speaking skills and superior writing ability, creativity and excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Tact, integrity, diplomacy and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Confident, personable and able to engage with customers effectively.
  • Well-developed problem solving, decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to complete evening and/or weekend work.
